Crushers WorkForce

Our WorkForce Program - is often the hook that draws the boys in.

We believe a job is a stabilizing force which we use as a platform for accountability and character development. We take away the need to do crime based on monetary needs, and compete with the streets on a wage basis. It is a gamechanger!

Field Trips

Crushers WorkForce

We provide paid employment at the Club and, once they are ready, place they boys in local businesses, while still on our payroll.

Boys even get to be a manager for the day at the club!

Crushers Financial Literacy

Crushers partnered with Ganbit Chicago, a non profit that teaches our young men how to do taxes and the implications of tax laws that can benefit them and how to start investing for their futures. Every Monday Gambit comes to Crushers and provides their training on site!

Crushers Kitchen

Through a partnership with Chef Tiffany Williams, the boys learn cooking skills, meal planning and budgeting.

They also sell their delicious creations at local markets and festivals!

Mentoring

In addition to a job, at Crushers Club we provide emotional and social support - proven to be the number 1 deterrent to juvenile crime.

Crushers mentors are from the South Side, and know the temptation of the streets. Our mentors work with our young men to show them there’s an alternative to gangs.

Crushers Clothing

Founded and operated entirely by our youth, this program teaches creativity and technical skills.

The boys also learn about profit/loss as they retail at community events.

Crushers Construction

This program, led by experts in the field of construction, enables our boys to join real-world work-sites and learn practical skills.

Crushers also take the opportunity to fix up the the club where it’s needed!
